Here is the thing about Claude. Every time you start a new chat, it forgets (almost) everything.
Your company info. Your product. Your ICP. Your tone of voice. Gone.
Projects fix this.
A Claude Project is a persistent workspace where you load your context once, set your instructions, and every conversation inside that project automatically has access to all of it.
For salespeople, this is massive. You set up a project once, and every task you run already knows your product, your ideal customer, your messaging, and your sales process.
Think of it like a folder for your AI assistant. Inside a project, you can store custom instructions that tell Claude how to behave (your tone, your role, your preferences), a knowledge base of documents that Claude references automatically (product docs, case studies, sales playbooks), and conversation history that maintains context across multiple sessions.
Unlike regular Claude chats that start fresh every time, a project remembers.
Step 1: Open Claude at claude.ai. Hover over the left sidebar and click Projects, or go directly to claude.ai/projects.
Step 2: Click New Project in the upper right corner.
Step 3: Name it something useful. Examples for sales:
Step 4: Add your project instructions. This is where you tell Claude who you are, what you do, and how you want it to work. (More on this below.)
